Project NextGEN – Critical Thinking for Tomorrowfunded by the Erasmus+ programme, officially started with a three-day kick-off meeting in Prague. A representative of the Advocacy Hub (ISZ) also attended the meeting.
The project brings together five organisations from across Europe, working jointly to equip young people with analytical and argumentation skills needed to navigate the complexities of modern society. The consortium is led by Agora Central Europe (Czech Republic), which also hosted the first meeting. Other partners include Global Citizens' Academy (Lithuania), Institute Centre for Advocacy (Slovenia), Institutul de Instruire in Dezvoltare "MilleniuM" (Moldova), and Movimento Europeo in Italia (Italy).
The meeting in Prague was rich in content. Beyond reviewing project tasks, partners actively began developing a debate handbook. A strong emphasis was placed on practical experience—we participated in a debate simulation led by the experienced team from Agora Central Europe. In addition, we were joined by an external expert from the national agency, who shared valuable practical insights on organising debates, particularly competitions.
Another important part of the meeting was dedicated to brainstorming and developing an educational game aimed at strengthening analytical thinking and argumentation skills. The game is being designed for flexible use, both in classroom settings and in more informal environments, such as at home.
We also set the framework for an international youth exchange, which will take place in Lithuania. It will bring together the most active and motivated students who will first participate in debate competitions within the project.
The meeting in Prague marked an important step in launching the project—not only in terms of content development but also in strengthening partnerships and building a shared vision.
In the coming months, we will be preparing many exciting activities, so we invite you to follow us on social media or here on our website to stay updated.
