ROADMAP TO SUSTAINABLE LIVING

Climate change and environmental challenges are becoming an increasingly prominent part of our daily lives, but faced with a flood of information, warnings and misinformation, many people often feel confused, powerless or convinced that there is little an individual can do to bring about change. This is particularly true for people with fewer opportunities, those living in rural areas, and individuals who, due to linguistic, social or geographical barriers, are less likely to participate in educational programmes and sustainability initiatives.

That is precisely why, in September 2025, we launched an international project together with partners from Iceland, Serbia and Slovenia Roadmap to Sustainable Living which aims to introduce sustainable practices to adults in an inclusive, practical and motivational way.

The project promotes an understanding of sustainability through everyday actions that individuals and communities can incorporate into their lives without feeling afraid or powerless. Rather than emphasising negative predictions, the project is based on empowerment, positive motivation and the gradual adoption of sustainable habits.

What do we aim to achieve?

To introduce adults to sustainable living in a practical, understandable and accessible way, and to encourage them to play an active part in environmental and social change. We place particular emphasis on:

  • the development of green skills,
  • greater participation by adults in lifelong learning,
  • linking sustainability to everyday practices,
  • strengthening communities and cooperation,
  • promoting active citizenship and European values.

What impact do we expect?

To provide adults with access to practical, tailored and useful tools for incorporating sustainable practices into their everyday lives. Participants will gain new knowledge, skills and greater confidence to actively contribute to the green transition.

At the same time, the project promotes greater community cohesion, cooperation between different groups of people, and the development of inclusive and accessible education on sustainability.

In the long term, we aim to contribute to a more aware, active and resilient society that understands that even small, everyday steps can lead to significant changes for future generations.

What are we going to do, and how can you join us?

Roadmap to sustainable actions

We have produced a comprehensive practical guide Roadmap to sustainable actions, which covers nine key areas of sustainability. The guide is based on research and good practices from partner countries and offers concrete and simple steps towards more sustainable everyday habits.

Daily Sustainable Journal

We are also developing a practical year-round diary for tracking personal sustainable habits, which will help users plan, implement and monitor their sustainable actions and gradually develop new habits.

The journal will be accessible in the library of knowledge by the end of September 2026. It will be available in PDF format, suitable for both online and printed versions.

Community events and activities

As part of the project, from October 2026 to January 2027, we will be organising various local events, workshops and community activities aimed at sharing knowledge, bringing people together and promoting sustainable practices in everyday life. Families with children will also be welcome.

We invite you to follow our social media channels for further information; events will also be posted there.
