Okrogla miza na temo vključevanja manjšin
On Saturday, 9 March 2024, we attended a round table hosted by Roma VHS Burgengland from Eisenstadt, Austria, as part of the Erasmus+ ArtMINDS project.
In addition to the hosts and the My Madeira Island organization from Portugal, we are also partners in the mentioned project. Participating guests, representatives of the government of the federal state of Burgenland, The Jewish Heritage Route in Burgenland – Eisenstadt, Universität Wien, NEON Burgenland, Die Grünen and Caritas Burgenland presented the work, needs and visions in the field of minority inclusion in Austria and shared useful and inclusive ideas with us for work in Slovenia.
Thus, the issue of integration of minorities and immigrants was discussed at the round table.
The participants of the round table emphasised the active participation of women, the need for acceptance and tolerance and respect for other cultures. At the end of the round table, we emphasised the importance of multiculturalism and interculturalism when it comes to solving the challenges of integration.
It was this round table that gave the ArtMINDS partnership an insight into the reality of the importance of minorities in building local and national culture, which will be the focus of our research in the coming months. We believe that minorities, like the immigrants who have shaped our region, are extremely important to our culture and the future generation of young people.
