WHEN LEARNING TURNS INTO A GAME<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Od 18. do 24. septembra 2024 je v \u0161panskem Iscarju potekalo usposabljanje za mladinske delavce \u201cThe Learning Game\u201d, ki je bil del programa Erasmus+. Glavni cilj projekta je bil spodbuditi inovativne pristope k u\u010denju s pomo\u010djo igrifikacije ter s tem izbolj\u0161ati u\u010dni proces. Usposabljanja sta se v imenu In\u0161tituta Sredi\u0161\u010de Zagovorni\u0161tva (ISZ) udele\u017eila tudi Adam in Uro\u0161.<\/span><\/p>

The project brought together representatives from several European countries to\nshare experiences, ideas and best practises. Teachers, schools and other\neducational organisations took part and worked together to develop new approaches\nto increase student motivation and engagement in the learning process. The event\ncentred on gamification, the use of game elements in education, with a focus on the\nuse of digital tools and games to improve learning outcomes. Participants also\ndeveloped intercultural competences and strengthened cooperation between\nEuropean countries.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Cultural evenings and interpersonal encounters<\/b><\/span><\/p>

As part of the project, representatives from each country prepared a cultural evening\nwhere they presented the specialities of their countries, languages, customs and\ncuisine. One of the most memorable presentations came from Italy, where\nparticipants not only learnt about the language and culture, but also mastered their\ngestures, which had interesting meanings. The Italians also incorporated art history \u2013\nparticipants worked in groups to recreate famous works of art with their bodies,\nwhich was both educational and entertaining.<\/span><\/p>

The Spanish hosts also prepared a memorable evening where they taught the\nparticipants how to pour traditional cider properly \u2013 by holding the bottle over their\nheads and the glass by the hips. The Slovenian representatives, Adam and Uro\u0161,\npresented Slovenian stereotypes, sang a song and demonstrated some martial arts\ntechniques as part of an energising game.<\/span><\/p>

Creative problem solving through games<\/b><\/span><\/p>

Through various activities, the participants gained valuable experience in the areas\nof teamwork, leadership and intercultural tolerance. The central theme of the project\nwas the development of new teaching methods based on gamification to increase\nstudents' motivation and actively involve them in the learning process.<\/span><\/p>

At the end of the project, the participants had the task of developing their own game\nin groups to solve specific social problems. Adam developed a game for teachers\nand professors, while Uro\u0161 focussed on companies and employees. Each group\ndemonstrated how gamification can serve as a powerful tool for solving real-world\nchallenges.<\/span><\/p>

Unforgettable experience, new knowledge and lasting friendships<\/b><\/span><\/p>

Adam and Uro\u0161 gained numerous new skills during the project, created many fond\nmemories and made lasting friendships. As they both say, they are grateful for this\nwonderful opportunity that has allowed them to grow personally and professionally.\nThey look forward to applying the knowledge they have gained in future projects and\nsharing their experiences with colleagues and young people.<\/span><\/p>
